Welcome Parikshit,

Thanks for your all words and joining our forums. In regards to error you have posted, it looks like you are trying to create a VPS with Debian 7.x / Ubuntu 13.x / Ubuntu 14.x O.S template. If yes then check the kernel version of node. It should be 2.6.18.

Actually this error from the VPS, not the OpenVZ node. It means the  Debian 7.x / Ubuntu 13.x / Ubuntu 14.x O.S need a kernel newer than 2.6.18. OpenVZ VPSís donít have their own kernel, they run on the OpenVZ node level kernel.  To screw this error instead of upgrade the kernel version you can replace the kernel version.  Do the following steps in Openvz node.

Quote
# cd /etc/vz

Quote
# vi osrelease.conf

[ press the insert button and add following line into file. For better understanding I have given the example of Debian 7.0, you can add a line as per your requirement ]

Quote
debian-7.0      2.6.32

Now save and quit the file.

Now try to start the VM that you have created. It will start and work fine.

That's all !!

Enjoy !!!

Hi Rockers,

Thanks for the swift reply. Yes I was trying to install Debian 7.0 and the solution you given has worked for me. I couldn't say how happy I am. You save my new small business from fall down. I have a lot of customers they want Debian 7.0 to install on their VM.

Hey guys, At the time go through from your new post about " Coming Soon : MilesWeb Virtual DC Platform! " on Facebook. I am very exited about the service you will be going to launch. Its a great to have a  Virtual DC for us. This service will kick my business to grow faster. I will surely purchase this service from you.

Keep good works as you always do !!

Thank You !!
