Although you have covered almost every aspect important to determine the success and stability of an eCommerce website, I would like to add one important point. The most crucial aspect of an eCommerce website is the customer data, therefore, it is important to ensure the security of the website. Along with having the physical security like the SSL certificate, it is also important to assure the buyers that their information is secured and confidential on your website. Ensure that all the security badges are clearly displayed.
According to me one of the most important factors for an eCommerce website that really makes a difference is the payment options offered. It is extremely important to offer various online payment options like debit card, credit card, PayPal, bank transfer etc. for ensuring the convenience of the visitors.
I think for an eCommerce company, the 'About Us' page is an important element. Tell your users everything about your company. If you are not a popular brand, customers will read the About Us page for finding out if you are a trustworthy company. Being open and honest with them will work for you in terms of building a trust for a long term.
I would stress of the importance of a search box. It is important that the search box in an eCommerce website should be an auto complete search box. This helps in avoiding spelling errors and provides accurate results.
Where do you think the search box should be ideally placed on an eCommerce website for ensuring the convenience of the customers?
You can think of having a floating search box that moves according to the cursor of the user. Or else, you can place the search box in the top right corner of the website on every page. As the search box is prominently displayed, customers will not have to search for it on your website.
A floating search box sounds good. However, you can also have the search box in the header of every page on the right hand side. SO, to whichever page you go to, the search box is always there.
Yes!! I completely agree on that! Whenever I visit a website I always keep searching for a search box. The absence of a search box on a website is really a turn off
I would say fixing any kind of errors on the eCommerce store is also an important task. The other day I was buying something online and I wanted to pay through my credit card. I clicked on the credit card option and the site showed me an error, I tried the debit card option as well, again the same error was shown. It is important that the eCommerce website owners should know about the existing errors on the website and they should be fixed as soon as possible otherwise this directly means losing the customers.
I am shocked to see why no one has mentioned anything about the domain name of the eCommerce website. I think the domain name is the first impression and it is highly important to have an impressive domain name with the appropriate domain name extension. For example, if your online store is for UK customers then register a domain name with .co.uk extension. Your domain name becomes your brand, therefore it is important to register one that people can easily remember.

Kudos! I was just going to write about the domain name. Domain name is the first impression of the website. This is one point that cannot be ignored!
I would like to mention another important point here! The product images! Product images are the only aspects that customers are interested in seeing. Products images drive sales! Therefore, it is extremely important to make sure that the product images are high definition and clear.
WOW!! This post contains quite an explanatory list of eCommerce website essentials now!
