Title: Hosting for starting a forum
Post by: Sameer on September 17, 2014, 01:26:16 PM
I am planning to set up a forum. The forum will contain various internet related topics. I want to create a forum that is safe and cannot be easily hacked. The people who will be managing it are not technical experts, so I am looking forward to a user-friendly platform. Do you think PHPbb will be a good choice?

My aim is to get approximately 1000 active members on the forum. In case members want to post pics, they should be able to post them. Sufficient storage space is required for uploading and managing the pics.

Please suggest me which hosting platform would be suitable.

Hi Sameer,

You can use phpBB or SMF forum. Both are available for free and it's supported with our shared hosting plans. We will install the forum on your domain, you can then optimize it as per your requirement. You get an admin interface to manage the forum. You can consider our Startup or Business plan to run the forum.

Thanks for the update. Do I get any forum builder or website builder software with any of the cPanel packages?

We offer Softaculous with cPanel. If you have any forum script, theme or application, you can install it through Softaculous.

Well this sounds great. I am fine with the basic cPanel package. However, with time my visitors and forum members are going to increase so I will have to upgrade the package. How long will it take to upgrade my hosting account in case it is required?

Upgrading of the account will be done immediately, it won't take much time. You can upgrade your hosting package whenever required.
