Title: BlueSpice MediaWiki Hosting
Post by: Roy on February 09, 2015, 11:02:07 PM
I'm looking for a hosting solution for a private business wiki for internal company use and would like to use BlueSpice MediaWiki. Is this something you can support?

You can use our web hosting service to run private business wiki (https://www.milesweb.com/mediawiki-hosting.php) and it can be kept restricted for the internal company use. We will install the BlueSpice MediaWiki on your domain. Let me know if you have any questions.

Can we use our own domain name for access? (e.g. wiki.mydomain.com)
For the BlueSpice, do you have any other customers using this or would this be your first installation?
Is there extra fees to use BlueSpice MediaWiki instead of just plain MediaWiki?
Are installation of software upgrades to BlueSpice included in the service?
Can the wiki be hidden behind login/password?
Can Google Authenticator token generator be required for login?

Yes you can use the domain wiki.jumpsport.com and you will have to update the A record to our server IP address.

We have number of MediaWiki hosting clients and every customer wants some or other other extension to be installed. BlueSpice would be the first installation. We will do it for you after installing the MediaWiki.

QuoteIs there extra fees to use BlueSpice MediaWiki instead of just plain MediaWiki?
We do not charge additional for installing BlueSpice MediaWiki.

QuoteAre installation of software upgrades to BlueSpice included in the service?
We will upgrade it upon request.

QuoteCan the wiki be hidden behind login/password?
Yes, without user name and password the Wiki will not be accessible.

QuoteCan Google Authenticator token generator be required for login?
We will install/enable TwoFactorAuthentication for your Wiki. Please refer http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:TwoFactorAuthentication

I am referring to the BlueSpice fork of MediaWiki described here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlueSpice_for_MediaWiki

Would you install the BlueSpice version of MediaWiki? (Not the BlueSpice extension.)

Sounds good, thanks! (Please note that the latest BlueSpice version would be v2.23, not v2.22)

Would the MediaWiki 01 package work for these needs as I have described them? If so, would you initiate this new wiki creation, or should I do so online?

Yes, we will install the version that you wish us to have. Our MediaWiki 01 is good to start with. Kindly place the order from the website and we will get started with the account setup and then installing the BlueSpice MediaWiki.
