Title: Secure payment gateway for the start
Post by: Naina on February 18, 2015, 12:11:23 PM
Which payment gateway is good to start with for an eCommerce website? Is it fine to start with just PayPal or there should be other payment gateways as well in the beginning?

Hi Naina,

For an eCommerce website, I would suggest you to incorporate multiple payment options like credit card, debit card, net banking and cheque. COD option should also be there on the website. If you are only targeting Indian customers then you can skip PayPal option. What you would be selling from your eCommerce website, whom you will be targeting?

Well, I totally understand that various payment gateways have to be incorporated in an eCommerce website. However, right now I would just like to start with one or two, what would those be?

If you are targeting Indian customers, you can consider EBS or CCAvenue. This payment gateway would allow you to accept credit card, debit card, net banking and cash card payments.

You can check the list of recommended payment gateway providers for Indian eCommerce website at https://www.milesweb.com/blog/top-10-online-payment-gateways-indian-ecommerce-websites/
