Title: XEN, Open VZ or KVM?
Post by: Drake Harrison on July 10, 2015, 11:58:04 AM
I would like to know that for VPS, which one is the best option? XEN, Open VZ or KVM? I have been doing some research on this.

I read an article where it was mentioned that KVM is the future technology but I am still confused. Virtualization is a wide and complex topic and it is also quite difficult to understand. I did not find much information on XEN and OpenVZ.

I would love to discuss this in detail with the forum members.

According to my knowledge, all three technologies are same in terms of stability. However, when it comes to managing web hosting issues KVM is the preferred virtualization platform. In case you wish to load kernel modules like CloudLinux, then you must opt for KVM and if you are just looking for a LAMP setup (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) then OpenVZ will work fine for you.

I have read a little about these three technologies and I feel that one should prefer using XEN VPS because it is easy to work with. OpenVZ and KVM are complex systems.
