Backlinks are important for a website as it helps in improving keyword ranking and brings visitors to the website. No-follow links are not considered by Google. What is the role of no-follow links in SEO? Should we completely ignore it?
It is very well said that every coin has two sides and like that in SEO dofollow and nofollow has their own benefits and uniqueness.

Even though nofollow links has less weightage, but they also play an important role for your website as it gives a natural look to your profile and helps to increase your DA, PA and other metrics.
It will not only increase your website ranking, but also help you to get more links for your website.
Majority of people assume that nofollow links are of no use but if they are not worth then why Google is still counting nofollow links, it should be immediately banned. It is just a mouth publicity that nofollow is of no use, but " we should not forget that even garbage is recycled and prepare for reuse"
I think no follow are important because:-
1) It will help you to diversify link ratio between dofollow and nofollow.
2) It will also help you to diversify your anchor text.
Being a blogger, I think that nofollow attribute is simple, easy to implement and one of the safest way to protect against penalties. As far as it is considered nofollow attributes is best practices in SEO.
I would like to share my views on this topic:-
Nofollow tells search engines not to crawl links or ignore it, but on the other side, it helps search engine to identify which web page is ethical or genuine. A person who is familiar with SEO knows nofollow or dofollow links, but ordinary person just click on the link if he/she feels that result is worthy or interesting and this helps us to get traffic. Below mentioned points should be considered by everyone:-
1) Help to increase graph of sales.
2) Generate other links.
3) Keeps portfolio natural.
4) It informs search engine that you played safely and are following rules.
Google algorithm does not consider no follow links in it, but it can add value to your website.
With no follow links, you would certainly generate traffic to your website. And no follow links helps to increase authority.
Nofollow links give the natural look to your website and increase the website traffic. Also, it helps to build backlink generation.
nofollow links act as a word of mouth marketing for online business and hence are very important. Sometimes a nofollow link can lead to a follow link that helps to increase traffic and ranking of your website. By having a mixture of nofollow and dofollow links to your profile it looks more natural which Google likes. So,I think nofollow links are equally important as dofollow links.
