Title: Does Article length matter?
Post by: Ritu on October 01, 2016, 03:58:27 PM
I am into blogging and I have observed that my colleague writes long articles. The question that strikes me is that if we write an article focusing on main points then is it necessary to elaborate every point in detail? Or does article length really matters?

Yes, these will impress the visitors. Short and meaningful sentences will be enough to clear the concept.

I personally don't like to read a long article. It's quite time consuming and after some time the mind becomes saturated. Even though I am reading, but I will not understand anything.

   Long article is less likely to trip Google's diversity filter.
   Long article gives more opportunity to use keyword contextually in content.
   Long article has the ability to target more long tail keywords.

It depends on the art of writing. It is observed that long article sometimes lacks the information and short article covers specific keyword and helps to convey a message.

Yes, If you are writing any technical article then it should be clear and specific to the topic. Always try to write the blog or article from the readers' point of view. Even if you are writing it long, it becomes lengthy, but proper use of images and language grab the readers attention and make interest while reading the same.

Yep, but it depends on what we are looking for to attract traffic or to generate backlinks.

Actually it's depends on your topic, If you are writing any technology related article then it should be clear and specific to the topic. Always try to write the blog or article from the user's point of view because you are writing for user not for search engine. I think the average article length is between 400 and 600 words. :)

Ans) Article length matters as long as you are able to provide topic related information. Unfortunately, most of the audience are not patient enough to read your whole article. So instead you can arrange your article according to the following points:
   (1) Write quality content: Write content which will interest your audience to read it. Writing long articles with irrelevant posts and poor grammar doesn't make any sense.
   (2) Teach something: Write an engaging article. Your article should offer something to read to your readers.
   (3) Avoid flabby words: Your post should not contain information that doesn't support your key points.
   (4) Divide long posts: Divide the long posts into two or more. Make it more readable, understandable to anyone reading the article.
