Hello friends,
My question is beginner and basic; I am working on a project where the keyword market has a high competition (Tourism). I'm using the Keyword Tool to have some insights when it comes to creating the content for the keywords.
So there goes the doubt:
Should I bet and use high competition keywords?
Generally, these keywords are tied to a high Local and Monthly survey, is it worth to use them?
Thank you!
@Suneel why not use a long tail instead of just using the word Tourism? I think to begin with, it would be much more interesting to invest in a set of keywords, containing the word Tourism, than to compete directly with such a crowded keyword.
Of course, often only one keyword fits into your strategy, but if you can use long tail, it can pass on better results.
Hello @Suneel, I believe that what will define which words to use, is to first understand the purpose you want with the traffic that comes to the site, in your case the INTENTION is tour package sales is what I think.
For sales of tourism packages, I would put myself in the position of the person who is carrying out the search, with the INTENTION OF PURCHASE, would work in two freights: focus on product and focus on the company.
Focusing on the company
tourism agency
tour operator
travel agency
Focus on the Local company
Travel agency
Tourism operator
Travel agency
Focus on the products = (for e.g., Kesari Tours)
Kesari Tours and travel
Kesari Tours and travel package
Kesari Tours and travel packages
Kesari Tours and travel agency
Kesari Tours and tourism agency
Kesari Tours and travel agencies
Kesari Tours and tourism agencies
Now if you also have a Blog, you would have to work through all the semantics, the complete universe, where you enter: hotels, air tickets, inns, travel guide, and so on ...
Just remembering, in one of the SEO lecture classes, an expert talked about conversions, and between 3 or 4 terms has a tendency to have greater conversion than very generic words, for example with 1 or 2 terms.
What do you think?
Hello guys!
Thanks for the answers! @Amrit, what I meant is related to the Tourism market and not the specific word but I will search about the long tails you commented on! ;-)
@Pravin Ganore, this is just what I'm doing but I'm thinking it's worth investing in the "ideas" of the Google Keyword Tool, let's take an example:
Tourism India (High Competition Head Tail)
Indian Wine, Cold in India ... (Long Tail)
This term of competition refers to Google AdWords, not SEO and it is not better to start with these head-tail words.
Well, but by Keyword Adwords Tool I could not know some head tails keywords of the niche and use them as approach strategy for Long Tails.
What would be a technique for knowing Longs and Heads?
I'm testing heads on this project and I'm going to monitor for results. But now I was confused by using the Adwords tool to find keywords. Are they not the searches conducted by Google?
Suneel, through the keyword tool of Adwords, it is possible to do this analysis, depends on the way and logic that you use to interpret it. As for your initial question, betting on the long tail making these pages connect head-tail pages is the best option, in my opinion.
PS. The keywords provided by Adwords show the level of competition for a particular keyword, meaning the higher the competition, the more campaigns there are. However, it also provides us with interesting data that are the global and monthly surveys, through which you can know the level of interest of the user in relation to a certain keyword. This way you can find out which words can bring you a greater flow of visitors and outline your strategy. I hope I have helped.
Thank you Pravin, that was the reason I had the amount of research! Even more people.
To find out long tails, do this:
keyword tool + Google insights for search + google's suggestions. Put it all together and average what is really relevant to your business (or customer)
Example:
"tourism in India in May "had an increase in March and can be used with a very low CPC
If you use the Combination SEO + ADWORDS has no way to go wrong, because a relevant landing page [tourism-in-india] with H2 or H3 talking about [Tourism in India in May] and ads and ad groups in AdWords relevant to the topic in question will generate better CPC.
Best of luck
