In the same way, I am a web designer and I want to design a website where users can purchase or sale domain. But before that, I want to know some basic steps of how to sell a domain?
If you have a website and looking for selling a domain, then put a banner on the website itself notifying that domain is for sale. It will help the users who are interested in buying the domain.

It depends on what type of domain you are selling and where you are selling?
Use social networking sites for advertising. There are groups, pages and much more to promote your domain for sale.
You can list your domain with a selling service. There are multiple selling services that will list your site and in return take a small commission. They also allow adding some description about the domain which leads to sales quickly.
If your domain relates to specific niche sector then you can target forums that are related to that niche. Add the domain in the post and this will help users to know about the domain that you are about to sell.
