Title: What are the terms that newbie should know before running Google Adwords?

Google Adwords is the main element in the SEO and PPC. It is mandatory for every website owner to run Google Adwords and Google Analytics for better performance of the website. Being a content writer, I am not aware of basic terms of Google Adwords. Can you guys help me to know what are the necessary terms that newbie should know before running Google Adwords?

There are multiple things that need to take into consideration in Google Adwords like for e.g., Google display network, Google search network, Keywords are the main elements that will trigger your ad to appear.

Adwords is a Google's online paid advertising program. Through AdWords, you can create online ads to reach people who are interested in your products and services. Google AdWords is a product that you can use to promote your business (Text Ad, Settings, Bid, Budget).
Here I am listing basic terms of Google Adwords,
1. Campaign
2. Ad groups
3. Campaign Type
4. Keywords
5. Quality Score
6. Impressions
7. Ad Rank
8. Mobile ad
9. Ad extensions
10. Call to Action (CTA)
11. Bid Strategy
12. Daily budget
13. Average Cost-Per-Click (Avg. CPC)
14. Headline
15. Landing Page
16. Display URL

These are all the basic terms you need to get started with Google AdWords.

You need to understand what type of campaign you are planning to run and other ad settings. You get an idea when you set your first campaign and it assists you to organize different paid advertising campaign.

Ad groups are also the main element in the Adwords. It is the set of keywords, budgets and strategies for the campaign. For e.g, if you are running an ad campaign for clothes sale, you can set up ad groups to target for online sales, women's clothes and men clothes. In short, you can run various ads in each group.

Select the proper campaign type! It will tell you where you want your ads to be seen on Google. Generally, there are three type:-

1) Search network only

2) Display network only

3) Search and display network only

Do not forget to add Ad extensions in your ad. Some of the extensions are the local address, phone numbers, coupons and external link of the site. Such extensions help the user to contact you or visits your locations.

While using Google Adwords you should understand the following terms:
1) Accounts basics: Within an account, you can serve the search network and the display network to your customers.
2) Keywords: Selecting the right keywords for your account is an important step.
3) Match types: Pair your keywords with the correct match types. 4 Match types are:
     (i) Broad Match – which covers the largest span of the audience.
     (ii) Broad match modifier – add '+' sign before a keyword to designate as a broad match modifier.
     (iii) Phrase Match – Your ad will appear when a user searches for your key phrase.
     (iv) exact Match -  Your ad will be shown when the exact keyword is searched.
