Title: Is it possible to migrate SSL along with the website?
Post by: Brain Coffey on March 19, 2014, 03:12:49 PM
When a website that has SSL installed in it is migrated, from one web hosting company to the other; or if it is moved from one hosting server to the other, is the SSL migrated with it? Or the website owner has to purchase a new SSL certificate?

Hi Brian,

Yes, it is possible to migrate the SSL certificate from one provider to other only if the Control Panel and Key Size. For a SSL certificate a dedicated IP is required which should be assigned to your domain on the new server.

If in case the website does not transfers during the migration process, you can install it manually from WHM. You will require Certificate key, Private Key & the CA Bundle/Intermediate CA which the old SSL Certificate Authority (CA) issued it.

Hope this helps in transferring the SSL certificate :-)
