Email hosting services is an Internet hosting service which runs on email hosting servers. Email hosting services are normally paid services which differ from the standard free webmail services such as Gmail and Yahoomail.
Email hosting providers provide these service to those users, who have high email traffic on their small and medium-sized businesses. For that require their own domain name in order to recognize more. The typically hosted business email address is in the form of person@companyname.com. Big companies normally host their own email servers for more security and utilization.

Yes, Email hosting does exist!
Email hosting is a service offered by hosting providers to their users.
All your emails and files associated with it are stored on the server.
Some companies prefer email hosting over free email services like Gmail or Rediffmail because:-
(a) It gives you a professional email with your own domain like 'info@yourcompany.com'
(b) It helps your customers and subscribers to easy exchange of important documents like invoices,   client contract or any sensitive information.

That's why I think all organizations should have such professional Emails regardless the size of the organization.

Basically, it is an internet hosting service that operates email servers. It is differ from the typical end-user email providers such as webmail sites. Most web hosting companies provide you with email hosting as well; however, the email hosting service provided by web hosting companies for the most part only supplies you with POP3 email and the basics in spam/virus protection and other features. Additionally, some of the free email hosting providers are ad-supported. Again, if you own a small or medium sized business (SME), then you should not want to operate your business email using one of these providers since the email service is typically sub-par as compared to a professional email hosting service.

A web hosting service that rents out and operates email servers is called as email hosting. In simple terms, if you have a domain name and need an email service on that domain name, you would require to sign up for an email hosting service. Many hosting companies offer free versions of email hosting services and so many businesses take the advantage of the flexibility and power of profession email services. When a separate shared or dedicated mail server manages both incoming and outgoing emails, it is termed as professional email hosting.
