Hello everyone,
I want to host a website and so wish to select my own domain name for it.
Is that mean a domain parking?
Domain parking is a process where you reserve a certain domain name for the further uses.e.g. if you are aware that you want a domain name including your brand name and you are sure that you will use it in future than to avoid the cybersquatting you can use domain parking.
In domain parking, you don't need to upload the content of your website as it'll appear just as under construction page.
Yes, it's like buying a domain for your website or blog but using it later. In short, you booked that particular domain for future use.

Hello everyone,

Domain parking is nothing but the registration of an internet domain name without that domain being associated with any services such as e-mail or a website. The domain name acquired using the domain parking process is known as a parked domain.
There are
two main types of domain parking:
- Monetized: This technique is used to generate income by showing ads to visitors.
- Non-monetized: This technique is used to reserve domain names when a website is preparing for a launch.
Sometimes you may want to register the domain name way before your site is built completely. So, in this case, some hosting companies provide you a by default placeholder page for your site which is called as domain parking. Actually, these pages don't provide much value to your searchers as Google is not a fan of such pages.
Domain parking means you purchase a domain name but you don't link it with any web services like email or web hosting. Instead, you "park" it for using it later – often with a landing page or holding page.
Generally, when users set up or start a website they plan to register their domain name for an annual fee. Then, they point the domain to a website so that the website appears when visitors visit the domain name.
There can be some cases, when users may just want to purchase the domain name initially and park it, keeping it ready for later use.
Thank you, everyone, for clearing my doubt.
As a beginner, I don't think it would be much of my use. Though, the information provided by you guys is very useful.
