I have read several times that firewall is an important parameter from the security point of view.
So, what is firewall?
Is it required for my website?
Firewall is a system that monitors the incoming and outcoming traffic on your webiste. Firewall follows the security protocols and if it is met then only it passes the data to you. Basically, it partions between the trutsed internal network and untrusted external network.
Firewall is very important for any kind of online business and hence is important for your website.
As it blocks the suspicious activity, data theft and proactively protects the website from the cyber frauds.
Firewall is a security system that uses predetermined protocols that control the traffic coming or going out of your network.
It is always better to have firewall security for your website as it acts as a gate that keeps the malware outside your website.
A network security system that monitors as well as controls all the incoming and outgoing traffic on your website based on some security rules, it is called as a firewall.
Basically, a computer firewall is a software program that secures an unauthorized access to or from a private network.

- Stateful inspection firewalls.

- Next-gen firewalls.
Personally, I would recommend you for security reasons you need to install a firewall for your website.
The firewall prevents the unauthorized access coming or going from a network. It can be implemented either on hardware, software or a combination of both to access the internet with the security. Thus, I think, it would always be a safer way to save your online business with a firewall.
It is a hardware deployed in tune with the web server or server plugin that directly runs on the web servers.
