Hello,
I am a web developer and I got requirement from one of my clients saying that he wants SEO friendly URLs. So, please help me to know about the SEO friendly URL. Thank you.
SEO friendly URLs includes keywords of your business.
Usually, your URL comprises of parts like HTTP, domain name, subdirectory, and file name
e.g: http://www.milesweb.com/blog/seo
here : http = hypertext transfer protocol
domain name = milesweb.com
subdirectory = blog
file name = seo.
So, whenever you want to create URL you should try to accommodate your business domain in it along with the subdirectory name. Make sure, it is readable and short. For that, you can also use the URL shortener tool like Hiifyi (https://www.hii.fyi/) and Bitly. (https://bitly.com/)
This will definitely make your URL an SEO friendly one.
Try to avoid using the repetition of keywords in order to increase the rankings. Check the example of unnecessary use of keywords:

Use hyphens to divide the words.

Use hyphens to divide the words.
Yes, if you forgot to use hyphens then it will look messy and become difficult to understand. I will explain the same with the help of the above-mentioned example of URL:

First, you have to study the client requirement means his/her website niche and search for the keywords that are ranking for that specific niche businesses.
This is the example of right SEO friendly URL:

In short, add your niche keyword also in the url.

SEO Friendly URL is a well-optimized URL, which helps to understand the content of a website to search engine bots or crawlers and users at the same time. Creating SEO friendly URL is a method of making a set of URL's which is expressive enough to access and understand by Bots (Search Engine Crawlers) and Humans (Website Visitors). There are several parameters which can follow to create or generate the best URL's.
SEO friendly URL can be implemented by using the simple way like domain name - main category - subcategory - page name. Do not use any special characters or numbers in the given format.
SEO friendly URL's mainly important in eCommerce or online shopping sites because this site has many products or categories, so user will easily find the appropriate navigation on the website.
Take an example, if your website contains information about your company and/or services and that is basically it, no matter how many pages your website have, I'd go with the shortest URL possible.
- http[:]//example[.]com/contact-us/
- http[:]//example[.]com/about-company/
SEO friendly URLs for your Online Store, If your website is an eCommerce or online store, there are two ways to go about:
- http[:]//example[.]com/product-name/
- http[:]//example[.]com/category-name/product-name/
A SEO friendly URL is the one that contains Hypertext Transfer Protocol, Domain name of website, Subdirectory of the file and File name of the requested resource.
