I am just starting with my business online and want to host my website. But I am not sure whether to go for a basic shared hosting plan or VPS hosting. Please guide me on this.
Hey,
I will try to make your choice a bit easy by following examples :
1) If you are a newbie and want to learn how web hosting works then, shared hosting is the best option for you.
Also, if your website is new and doesn't get a good amount of traffic then still you can go for shared hosting. You can always upgrade shared hosting to VPS as per your need.
2) But, if your website gets some hundreds of visitors on daily basis then you should always choose VPS.
VPS has an advantage that you get your separate resources in it, so there won't any need to upgrade your hosting plan as you will get enough resources in VPS.
VPS hosting is mainly considered by the businesses that have outgrown their shared server. It means if a website is falling short of resources due to the increasing traffic.
At the initial stage, you can start with shared hosting. Later, you can shift to VPS or any other hosting environment based on demand.
In shared hosting, multiple websites are hosted on a single server and they share the same resources. so, the possibility of falling short of resources may occur in this type of hosting.
But, the good thing is there are companies that have the option of upgrading the shared hosting plans. That means, whenever you think that your web site's traffic is increasing and you are falling short of resources, you can upgrade your plan to VPS hosting.

Many of the hosting users get confused about what type of hosting to choose to start their hosting journey.
The choice between shared and VPS hosting depends on your website's hosting requirements.
For e.g: if you have heavy e-commerce or any other shopping website or the websites that consist of the transaction process then it is always advisable to select the VPS hosting, even if you are a new hosting user.
For a single blog, or image website, or any other website that doesn't contain any confidential information about your website, you can easily use shared hosting without any problem.
