Magento site - Base URL problem

Hello Guys,

One of our customer was facing a problem of base URL on their magneto webiste, He had made the changes in base URL in magneto configuration >> Web. But after browsing the URL he was getting " 404 not found page ". So he reverted the changes to default but still he was facing issue of 404.

If you facing same issue then below are the steps that will help you to resolve this issue.

First thing, this is a issue with the cache not with the URL you set.

1. Login to your magento admin.

2. Go to System >> Configuration.

3. On the left hand menu, click on Web.

4. Open the Unsecure and Secure dropdowns, locate the base URL line, and replace this with the new correct URL.

5. Now you have to clear the Magento cache and your browser's cache. Then site should load properly.
