I have read almost everywhere that dropping links of your website in your forum signature is helpful to get backlinks. I think it is a time-consuming task because most of the forum allows adding a signature after specific post. For e.g., XYZ forum allows to add a signature when you have 500+ post, so it required huge time and patience too. Do you really think those signature backlinks are worth?

Forum participation is a very old method and worthy too!! But it is not alone enough to get your website on the top. SEO is getting competitive and you need to explore your link building strategies. Get backlinks from your niche related websites and diversify keyword in the anchor text.

1) Profile link should not be optimized with the keywords

2) If links were not placed editorially then it is considered as unnatural links or violation of guidelines.
