Welcome Parikshit,

Thanks for your all words and joining our forums. In regards to error you have posted, it looks like you are trying to create a VPS with Debian 7.x / Ubuntu 13.x / Ubuntu 14.x O.S template. If yes then check the kernel version of node. It should be 2.6.18.

Actually this error from the VPS, not the OpenVZ node. It means the  Debian 7.x / Ubuntu 13.x / Ubuntu 14.x O.S need a kernel newer than 2.6.18. OpenVZ VPS's don't have their own kernel, they run on the OpenVZ node level kernel.  To screw this error instead of upgrade the kernel version you can replace the kernel version.  Do the following steps in Openvz node.

Quote# cd /etc/vz

Quote# vi osrelease.conf

[ press the insert button and add following line into file. For better understanding I have given the example of Debian 7.0, you can add a line as per your requirement ]

Quotedebian-7.0      2.6.32

Now save and quit the file.

Now try to start the VM that you have created. It will start and work fine.

That's all !!

Enjoy !!!
