Hi Members,

When monitoring the backup logs OR performing a backup using script /scripts/pkgacct, you might receive an error as below.

QuoteError(s) encountered in tar during archiving:
/home/cpanel/backup/abc: Cannot open
file: Permission denied at /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/pkgacct line 1799.

cPanel made some changes and cpbackup runs the pkgacct process as the account user. This means that it only takes into account files owned by that specific user. If you check the ownership and permission on those files listed, you see that it is not under the cPanel account. But has the ownership of root user OR 000 permissions. You will have to correct the ownership of those files and then execute the backups.

If you face any such error, feel free to get in touch with our support team & they will happily assist you.
