All Desktop Icons Changed to Word

Our computer or laptop has multiple numbers of programs installed. Our prime programs are Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Firefox and much more. All these applications have their own format, but there might be some possibilities that all your desktop icons may get changed to word or pdf. For that, you need to bring out some solution and change the default programs as per the requirement. 

The key reason for all desktop icons changed to the word or pdf is an issue with the default programs. Changing the default programs is the ultimate solution to the issue. Below mentioned is the simple method to fix the issue.

1) Open the Run dialogue ( Start  Run or (Win) + R)
2) Type Regedit then click [OK ] or type Enter
3) Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts
4) Search for the .lnk extension
5) Select the same and delete it
6) After deleting the file you can reboot or restart your computer or laptops.

After following these steps all the Desktop icons will get changed to their actual format. I hope these steps are easy to understand and implement.
