Wherever you go, the providers say that a VPS provides with dedicated server hosting like environment. A VPS is a powerful hosting platform that is no less than dedicated server hosting. Then why do people need to invest in a dedicated server?

Opting for a VPS hosting package or a dedicated hosting package depends on the requirements of the business. A VPS server is ideal for the businesses who prefer higher hosting resources while a dedicated server is ideal for a large business setup.

Getting a VPS or a Dedicated server, it depends on the requirement and the budget of the customer. A customer moves on to a dedicated server when he starts facing issue with his website/applications because of shortage of resources. If your website demands more power and resources then eventually you have to move onto a dedicated server.

Here is an interesting differentiation between VPS and dedicated server:

A virtual private server is like living in an apartment or a hotel room. You have got your own walls, door and windows. You have your own privacy and you can do anything you want in your space. Needless to say, that you are sharing the basic infrastructure with the other residences in the building.

Whereas a dedicated server owning your own mansion and living in it, you can use it as per your choice, it is completely up to you. 8)

A VPS hosting package is ideal for the small websites that have moderate traffic along with dynamic elements. Whereas, dedicated hosting is ideal for websites for the growing websites having dynamic content and eCommerce capabilities.
