I want to know what is mean by my EPP key? Does is require during the registration of a domain?

Your EPP key is an authorization code that is been provided by your current registrar. It is used to verify your ownership of the domain name when you want to transfer the domain to another registrar.

The EPP key (Authorization code) is a safeguard against authorized transferring of domain name registration and it protects your rights as a domain owner. So you won't require it while registering a domain for the first time, but yes, without EPP key it is impossible to even initiate the domain transfer from a current provider to other.
