What exactly happens when I purchase web hosting?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum, I am a newbie when it comes to web hosting. I am in process of starting a website. My website is a forum where people can talk about various aspects of starting an online store. I know that in order to start a website I will have to purchase a web hosting account. But what happens after that? What will I have to do after purchasing a web hosting package? What steps will be executed after that to make my website live?

I don't have a lot of knowledge about web hosting. It will be great if someone can provide answers to my questions.

Welcome to MilesWeb forum. You can use our web hosting service to host your forum. To start a website, you will have to purchase a domain name and web hosting package. Once you order the web hosting package and domain name from us. After that we will setup your hosting account and update the name servers. We will send you a welcome email, it will have your account login details. We will also install the forum on your domain name. You should be able to browse your forum in couple of hours. Normally it takes few hours to 24/48 hours for the domain to propagate globally. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Well that sounds good. After a lot of time, I have decided to register the domain name for my forum. Is there any offer on domain name registration?
