I would like to mention another important point here! The product images! Product images are the only aspects that customers are interested in seeing. Products images drive sales! Therefore, it is extremely important to make sure that the product images are high definition and clear.

The world today is driven by open source technologies. Running an eCommerce store on open source platform is going to ensure maximum benefits and the process of business expansion will be simplified.

Congratulations Kavya on the new online store!  :D

Initially you can drive traffic through social media websites. Join a lot of groups where you will find people interested in the products you are selling. All of them can be your potential customers. Feature offers, discounts, product pictures etc. The images that you submit should be impressive so that people click on the link and get to your website.

Selecting the operating system of a Cloud VPS totally depends on the applications to be hosted and the requirements of the website that you are hosting. For instance, if you are in need of PHP or ASP.NET applications, then Windows OS is the best option for you.

Well, that sounds great!

Thanks for explaining that with a good example Rebecca. Before this I had a huge confession on expired domain and deleted domain. At times, I used to think that they are the same.

Web Hosting / Re: Is reselling profitable?
December 08, 2014, 05:17:54 PM
The best thing about opting for a reseller hosting package is that your investment cost is lowered to a great extent. You don't have to make any heavy investments in server infrastructure, all you have to do is buy a domain name and sign up for a reseller hosting package and you can start your business under your own brand name.

Thanks for the update Shanaya. I am glad to go ahead with the option that you have stated. It will be great if you can provide me with some information on the use of Moodle.

Well, thanks for the information. If I go with the basic plan and if I have to update it in the future, how much time the upgrade process will take to complete? Will there be any downtime during this process?

Well, to roughly tell you the requirements, we are in need of 500 GB Bandwidth and 50-60 GB disk space.

I am a little confused about these concepts, it will be great if someone can explain to me the difference between expired domain and a deleted domain.

Domain Names / Re: Selecting The Right Domain Name
October 29, 2014, 03:56:52 PM
There are many new domain name TLDs coming up and many people are opting for them. If you contact your hosting service provider, they will list the new TLDs for you.

Domain Names / Re: Effect of domain name on SEO
October 29, 2014, 03:54:54 PM
Well, it will be great if you can ave your main keyword as the domain name. However, if you cant then there's not much to worry! If you are promoting your website properly, it will rank well irrespective of what domain name you have chosen.

This would be an education based online teaching website. Which CMS is right for this type of website?

I have a concept of an eCommerce website in mind. I know that there are many things involved when it comes to setting up and managing an eCommerce website like shopping cart software, payment gateways, customer database etc. I want to know if a shared hosting package is sufficient for a startup eCommerce website? Or do I need a higher package like VPS or dedicated hosting?
