Web Hosting / Re: What are the steps to earn from reseller hosting?
« on: February 28, 2019, 04:49:42 PM »
Reseller hosting helps you earn profit in various ways. It allows you to sell web hosting with your own prices. Also, by reselling domains and addons, you can earn extra. Many web hosts allow you to resell addons such as SSL certificate, backup, VPS  hosting, SpamExperts, etc.

Server location plays a key role in targeting your audience. If the server location is near to your audience, the website loads faster and they get instant view of your website. It helps to boost up your website traffic.

Web Hosting: Any web hosting service offers you or your company a space on physical servers running in it's facilities.

SaaS: Software as a Service (SaaS) is the most popular form of cloud computing. It offers all the functions of a traditional application, but the functions are carried out through the Internet via your web browser.

Differences between web hosting and SaaS:
Security: In case, your company is handling the sensitive data or confidential information of your clients, web hosting is the best preferred option as it offers high security. If you select SaaS or any other cloud computing service, your confidential data might be place alongside the data of other companies, and if anything goes wrong, it can potentially be accessed by other parties.

Accessibility: A cloud solution allows you to access your data from anywhere if you have internet. It means cloud doesn't limit the access, it enhances and improves the ability to reach that data. Cloud solutions are best when you require a lot of collaboration or situations when you want people to get information easily via Internet connected mobile devices available today. With web hosting, you can't access your data from anywhere or anytime.

Cost: Cloud offers pay per use feature which proves to be affordable for all types of businesses. while in basic web hosting, you need to pay the package price either on monthly or yearly basis.

Selecting one of them completely depends on your needs and priorities. If your primary concern is to minimize the operational expenses and get virtually limitless accessibility, cloud computing is the right option for you. On the other hand, if you are opting for more security and require fewer services, basic web hosting is the better option.

Below are some of the SEO practices for domains:

  • Avoid using hyphens in between the name.
  • Avoid and top level domains, instead go with a .com TLD.
  • Don't lie about your domain age.

Reddit allows you to share information on their site.
It allows visitors to view the content posted without being a member of their site.
You can promote your business on reddit and also encourage sales by using some common tactics that you use on other social media platforms. But make sure you post in the correct sub-reddit as some sub-reddits ban such content.

Web Hosting / Re: What is firewall?
« on: January 24, 2019, 04:41:59 PM »
A network security system that monitors as well as controls all the incoming and outgoing traffic on your website based on some security rules, it is called as a firewall.

Basically, a computer firewall is a software program that secures an unauthorized access to or from a private network.

The work of a firewall is to isolate your computer from the Internet using a "wall of code" that examines each individual "packet" of data as it arrives at either side of it— inbound to or outbound from your computer — to check whether it should be allowed to pass or should be blocked.

Web Hosting / Re: Limitations to a WordPress website.
« on: January 24, 2019, 04:26:22 PM »
Yes there are some limitations when you develop a website in WordPress. But if you are using it just for blogging then surely WordPress is very beneficial for you.

This is because WordPress is mainly developed for content management rather than other ecommerce.

No doubt you can develop any other type of website in WordPress but you will have to be ready for the difficulties you will face such as website security, customization requires coding, frequent updates, etc. But all this can be managed via plugins.

Domain Names / Re: What is Top level Domain?
« on: January 17, 2019, 04:54:54 PM »
A top-level domain is the last part of the domain name after the "dot". It is also know as domain suffix. There are two different categories of top level domains - country-specific top-level domains, and generic top-level domains.

With top-level domains you can identify certain website elements, such as, the business type, the country of origin, type of website - if it’s a government site, school website, and more.

.COM is the most popular TLD and therefore, is used by many brands.

Cloud Hosting / Re: What are the benefits of cloud hosting?
« on: January 17, 2019, 04:43:31 PM »
Cloud hosting offers several benefits as below:

Cost Savings:
In cloud hosting, you need to pay as per your usage and so the overall cost gets reduced. Additionally, you don't need to buy the expensive hardware unlike other hosting plans.

Increased Security:
Cloud hosting offers  high level of security features such as data encryption and routine backups. When your website is hosted on a cloud-based platform, and even if anything goes wrong with the hardware, whether your laptop gets stolen or a virus on a PC, your company’s data will remain safe and sound in the cloud, especially, if you are using security features like Single-sign On or Two-factor Authentication.

Increased Data Delivery Speed:
Cloud hosting services are able to detect the closest server to a given user and so they receive content from the nearest source which minimizes delays and page loading times. When you use powerful cloud servers for distributing load, it takes some of the burden off your local hosts and improves page speed.

Redesigning of a website is very important, if visitors are finding it hard to navigate. So, even after you redesign your website, check if visitors can navigate easily. Also, see to it that you are using proper color schemes while redesigning.

Web Hosting / Re: What is vCPU?
« on: January 11, 2019, 01:56:11 PM »
vCPU stands for virtual central processing unit. When one or more vCPUs are allocated to every Virtual Machine (VM) within a cloud environment it is called as a vCPU. Each vCPU represents a single physical CPU core by the VM’s operating system. If there are multiple CPU cores in the host machine at its disposal, then the vCPU is a combination of a number of time slots across all of the available cores. This allows multiple VMs to be hosted on a smaller number of physical cores.

General Discussion / Re: Medium Vs WordPress: Where to start a Blog?
« on: December 20, 2018, 03:48:54 PM »
When you compare Medium and WordPress, it is important to know that these are two different tools used for different purposes. WordPress has the capability to do everything that Medium can do but this means WordPress focuses somewhere else or has much scope than just writing.

This means Medium is much better that WordPress as it creates an environment for writers but you get stuck with the features that come with it as they are out-of-the-box. Content creation won't be very joyful with WordPress but the results will be the same as Medium and you have the permission to add more features if you need to.

So, if you want to make a decision, you should consider the following points:
  • Medium is used for writing only.
  • WordPress allows you to do many things than just writing.
  • Medium is like a professional community.
