General Discussion / Re: Which web hosting service is easy to sell?
« on: August 20, 2016, 12:14:40 PM »
It is important to understand the customer requirements and provide service accordingly. Irrespective of the type of web hosting you are selling, it is important to provide it according to the customer requirements. My opinion is that it is easy to sell shared web hosting because many companies, startups, blog owners etc. prefer to sign up for shared web hosting first.

Unless you are planning to create the code by yourself, you will need a proper eCommerce platform for managing the factors like shopping cart, product database, payment processing and checkout system. Most of the eCommerce platforms like Shopify, Prestashop, OpenCart et. enable you to import your product descriptions in HTML format; therefore, DreamWeaver can be used in managing that.

General Discussion / Re: Top 10 web hosting companies in India

I think one of the best ways to test the web hosting services is by signing up for a trial account. If you find the services satisfactory, you can go ahead and rent the server.

Web Hosting / Re: Payment Options
« on: July 15, 2015, 02:22:32 PM »
Well, I always look for the option of paying through debit card, if that option is not there, I don't buy from that website.
See! That's what I am talking about! People will not buy from an online store if they don't find the preferred option. Just like you Kavya, my preferred option is credit card.

If you have a higher budget, you can consider getting banner ads on relevant websites from where you think you can get good amount of traffic to your online store. Feature important highlights, offers and discounts on the banner ads.

Web Hosting / Re: Is reselling profitable?
« on: June 17, 2015, 12:35:28 PM »
For starting a business in your own brand name, you have to make sure that you are buying white-labelled hosting packages, only then you can use your own brand name. Also, select a web hosting company that provides 24/7 end user support.
I agree! Although white labelled reseller hosting packages are provided by many web hosting companies, end user support is an important thing that needs to be checked. Many web hosting companies say that they provide end user support, but they don't actually do that.

Ecommerce Hosting & Discussion / Re: VPS for eCommerce website?

Well, I would like to contradict from the opinions voiced in this thread. You all are right in terms of saying that VPS hosting provides with sufficient resources for managing an online store. However, initially an abundance of resources might not be required. So I feel in the beginning, the eCommerce store can be started on a shared hosting platform and later the hosting package can be updated as the website requirements increase.

Yes that's the ideal way. But some of the eCommerce store owners think that with a high-end server, it will be easy to set up and manage the online store.

One of the major differences between a hosted solution and an open source software is that a hosted solution can be easily implemented by anyone who is technically savvy. In case of open source solution, specialized developers are needed for managing the online store.

I am shocked to see why no one has mentioned anything about the domain name of the eCommerce website. I think the domain name is the first impression and it is highly important to have an impressive domain name with the appropriate domain name extension. For example, if your online store is for UK customers then register a domain name with .co.uk extension. Your domain name becomes your brand, therefore it is important to register one that people can easily remember.

Kudos! I was just going to write about the domain name. Domain name is the first impression of the website. This is one point that cannot be ignored!

According to my information, Linux is the perfect OS that is user friendly as well. Not just for cloud VPS hosting, I would recommend linux OS for any type of hosting.

Yes I agree. All across the globe, people prefer using Linux because it is just so easy to manage. Cuts down on a lot of hard work.
