One of my friends is planning to launch an eCommerce websites. We both did some research and some hosting providers said that Magento cannot be installed for shared hosting packages and therefore I have to buy VPS. Is it the same for MilesWeb as well?
To be frank, there will not be a lot of traffic in the beginning. Eventually when the traffic grows, my friend will not mind investing in a VPS.
It will be great if someone provides me information on this.

For enhancing the speed of an eCommerce website, it is important to reduce the number
of HTTP requests. HTTP requests are created when your page has to ask your server for files like images, style sheets and javascript. Whenever the browser runs across any of these files being called, it has to ask your servers for that file while loading a page; and then the server send back the file to the browser to load.
In order to reduce the number of HTTP requests, combine as many style sheets as possible into one style sheet and reuse the elements like pictures and scripts so that there are fewer files for the browser to call.

I would stress of the importance of a search box. It is important that the search box in an eCommerce website should be an auto complete search box. This helps in avoiding spelling errors and provides accurate results.

Well! This is really an interesting question!
Personally, to me it does not matter if I am hosting my website with a green web hosting company or not. I am sure this is the case with almost all the website owners as well. Having said this, I will also not discard the efforts of the web hosting companies who are working on the green data center concept. For instance, some of the web hosting companies make use of the solar panels and windmills for generating power.

I can say that this move by Google does make sense and it is a little surprising for me. I was wondering why this move has taken such a long time? The domain name business does not have huge margins. Google has never shown interest in it earlier.
Google entering in the domain name market surely sounds good! But I am unsure about how individuals and businessmen are going to take it!

The DNS system basically translates the internet domain name into the IP addresses. It is the abbreviation for domain name server. This system automatically converts the domain name typed in the web browser into the IP address of the web hosting servers.

A virtual private server is like living in an apartment or a hotel room. You have got your own walls, door and windows. You have your own privacy and you can do anything you want in your space. Needless to say, that you are sharing the basic infrastructure with the other residences in the building.
Whereas a dedicated server owning your own mansion and living in it, you can use it as per your choice, it is completely up to you.
