How much disk space does client uses for the website.

Hello, I want to know that how much disk space and bandwidth does the average client uses for their website because I am planning to start a reseller hosting business and this is the main point which every hosting provider should know for the better resources usage. Therefore, I want to gain good knowledge before entering into the business.

It is a tricky question as per my opinion because bandwidth and disk space requirement completely depends upon the website structure and content type. In the beginning, developers will tell you the disk space, but as your website grow the space increase automatically.

Most of the website usage 300 MB or sometimes less also. However, it is true that when you perform some activity, then it may increase to ½ GB.

Agree, Some of them uses 10GB or less than 500 MB. Minimum usage is around 500 MB but it also depends on the plan that the client has selected

Actually, it totally depends on the plan which you are taking but if you are in a startup phase, then according to me 10 GB is sufficient. Bandwidth and disk space are the important factors that you need to consider while choosing any plan. For dynamic web pages use PHP 5.5 sites that use a CMS (Content Management System) such as Joomla, WordPress, Drupal etc.

Following points will help you to make a solid estimate:

1) Evaluate the average page size of the website.

2) Ascertain the potential users of web pages as per your requirement.

3) Check the monthly visitors to your website.

When you will put together these points then you will get an idea about the space requirement for your website.

I agree with above-mentioned comments and it is true that some users even use 10GB  or less than 500MB

On an average, most of the shared hosting accounts uses less than  1 GB or even less than that.

I think it must be around between 500 MB and 1 GB but It mostly depends on the type of website you are hosting and this is perfect for the average website.

   Some of use 10GB and some of the use less than 500MB. Average is around 500MB but its depend on hosting plan as well as website structure also. CMS (Content Management System) required large space as compared to other static websites. If you sell Unlimited hosting then it will be possible that some of your customers will use 40GB disk space. Bandwidth and disk space are the important factors that in the web hosting plans. :)
