The best solution for hosting an image website
« on: October 13, 2014, 11:54:51 AM »
Hello, One of my friends is trying to create a new image based website. Just like any other startup, he is not expecting a lot of traffic in the beginning. However, considering the traffic growth in the future, he is in lookout for a powerful web hosting platform. Here are the options he has thought of :

1) Get a dedicated server and store everything there.

2) Use Amazon services. This looks expensive! Isn't it?

3) Enable the users to connect their cloud storage account like Google Drive and store the images in there. But I think this might cause speed problems. Is it ok with Google? Is that Legal?

4) Utilize an online service like Bitcasa (Our own account). Is it legal and allowed? Will it cause speed problems?

Please note that my friend is trying his best to get an affordable web hosting solution. He also does not want to sacrifice on the website performance! What is the best option for him?

There are ideal web hosting solutions, you don't necessarily have to invest in any expensive platform. It will be great if you can elaborate what your web hosting requirements are for the image website and I will provide you with an ideal hosting solution.

Well, to roughly tell you the requirements, we are in need of 500 GB Bandwidth and 50-60 GB disk space.
