Difference between CDN and Web Hosting.

I want to know the difference between CDN and traditional web hosting. Do I need to have both?

Web hosting is used to host your website to make it accessible over the internet. Content Delivery Network (CDN) helps in speeding up the access and delivery of your website. CDN can take the content and serve it across the globe. CDN decreases the download time of your website. In web hosting, content gets distributed by a single server whereas in CDN your content gets distributed from the multi-host environment.
As there is no need to have both I would suggest going for CDN instead of traditional Web Hosting.

It is a system of distributed servers that deliver web contents and other website material to a user based on the geographic locations of the user, it basically operates like to get your required web content from your nearest servers. Using this will get an effective and reliable delivery even at the time of bandwidth congestion and it also reduces the risk of data loss. So, there is no need to take a backup in CDN, any other platforms.

Web Hosting: It is basically a medium. when you develop a new website for commercial as well as personal use, it requires the services of a web hosting to host your website and put it across the web. By hosting websites on the web, web hosting provider making their products and services available to the public across the world. Web hosting:

The primary purpose of web hosting is to host your website on a server and let users access it over the Internet. It is normally referred to one server.
