How to transfer files from local machine to hosting server?

One of my friends has signed up for a new hosting account. I would like to know the process of transferring the files from the local machine to the web hosting server. It will be great if anyone can provide me information on this process.

It's very easy to upload the data on the web hosting server. The data can be uploaded using FTP client (for ex - FileZilla). Install FTP client on your local machine, create FTP account from the web hosting control panel. Use the FTP account details to connect to the web hosting server via FileZilla. Once you are connected you can start uploading the data from your local machine to the web hosting server.
