How to Manage the DNS Zone on GoDaddy?

Controlling your provided website and email services to a domain using GoDaddy’s DNS zone is Managing your DNS. Accessing and changing your records as needed will be illustrated below.

1. Accessing Your Account

1. To start, sign in to your GoDaddy account.
2. Select “My Products” or “Domains.”
3. Locate the desired domain from the list, then hit the DNS option button or Manage DNS in the dropdown. 

Generally, you’ll find DNS settings in the Domain Control Center of GoDaddy.

2. Genres of Records (Most Frequently Used)

You should be comfortable with these basic types:

• A Record: Links your domain to an IPv4 address (for your website server).
• CNAME Record: Creates an alias from one domain to another (e.g., www to your main domain).
• MX Record: It directs mail meant for your domain name to designated mail servers.
• TXT Record: Stores text data used for verification (email SPF/DKIM), used often.

3. Create and Modify Domain Records

To add a record, click Add New Record on the Management page.

1. Ensure you select an appropriate TYPE (A or CNAME are the most popular).
2. Name options include @ for the main domain and www, as well as many other customizable selections.
3. Finally, provide an IP address/Target Domain in ‘Value / Points To.’
4. Click “Add Record” or “Save.”

4. Revising A DNS Record

1. Go to the DNS Management page and locate the record you wish to edit.
2. Press the pencil icon beside it.
3. Fill in the correct data for relevant fields.
4. Select “Save.”

5. Removing A DNS Record

1. Find the record you wish to remove on the DNS Management page.
2. Select the trash can icon next to it.
3. Finalize deletion confirmation prompt.
