Approx. read time : 3 min

WordPress has grown a lot in past few years and it has emerged as great content management system (CMS) for beginners. It’s one of the best blogging platform today and can be used to create simple blogs, professional websites and even online stores. WordPress has the widest range of attractive, free and premium themes compared to other content management systems like Drupal and Joomla. There are many world class themes available online which you may download and integrate with your website at any point of time.

We highly recommend using WordPress for your website or blog if you don’t have technical expertise or experience in managing a content management system. You can customize your website/blog using readily available plugins for WordPress however you need to make sure that there are not too many customizations. WordPress as a CMS is vulnerable to hacking attempts if you customize it more. To avoid hacking attempts one must ensure that upgrade to latest version is carried out from time to time along with up to date installation.

Although we recommend WordPress a lot, there are precautions which needs to be taken care of. There are issues which may occur making tons of modifications and it may cause site breakage. Even changes made to site can disappear. Installation of too many plugins should also be avoided for such reasons. Basically, modifications or installing to many plugins is not recommended if you have just started your online website/blog or have limited knowledge. In case, you have issues using WordPress, you may refer to WordPress official forum as there are many active members who are always ready to help you out.
